Cosmetic oils and fragances for perfumes

Supercritical CO2 extraction is a solvent free, effective and innovative process to obtain oils and natural extracts are usually searched as attractive fragrances or active ingredients by Cosmetic industry.

Compared to cold press extraction, CO2 is specially good when high yields are required or when starting amount of oily material is not high. In these cases, cold pressing is not able to extract the oil and CO2 is the alternative. CO2 extracted oils add value to cosmetics enhancing their functional action and / or pleasant attributes.

Our services include:

EXTRACTION OF FRAGANCES AND FUNCTIONAL INGREDIENTS

  • Natural extracts from vegetal sources ((botanicals, spices, seeds, roots, etc.) with high-added value because of their aromatic features or other labelled functionalities for cosmetics that may be obtained by supercritical CO2 extraction: extracts from angelica root, lavender, rosemary, pepper, ginger, cardamom, ambrette,… are examples of recognized supercritical CO2 extracts used as odour ingredients in perfume formulations.

In many cases flavour ingredients are not in high concentration in the natural materials. Besides, extraction process has to be selective to avoid the extraction of other not interesting substances that reduce the quality and purity of the extract. Supercritical CO2 extraction is in many cases the best solution for the obtention of these perfumery ingredients, extracting them from

  • Seeds: ambrette, cardamom, pepper…
  • Berries: juniper Berry…
  • Roots: ginger, angelica…
  • Flowers and/or leaves: lavender, chamomille, arnica…

We offer our processing services to obtain your extracts with supercritical CO2 extraction technology.

CO2 is a green solvent, and ALTEX is organic certified, so organic certificate is available for the extracts obtained with this technology at our facility.
